Pauline shows why aesthetic intelligence matters.

Pauline is the author of Aesthetic Intelligence: How to Boost It and Use It in Business and Beyond (2018). The book is based on a graduate school course, “The Business of Aesthetics,” which she introduced and formerly taught at the Harvard Business School. With 25 years of experience in building the world’s most influential luxury brands, Pauline shares insights as to how and why long-term financial value is built on the ability to deliver aesthetic value. She also advises executives and entrepreneurs on strategies for evaluating and enhancing their businesses through activation of their own senses and cultivation of their tastes—two of the most under-developed “soft skills” of business leaders in today’s world. In addition, she hosts a weekly lifestyle show, “Tastemakers,” which airs on the world’s largest audio entertainment company, SiriusXM.

Prior to her work in media and academia, Pauline was the Chairman of North America for LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton, where she held the regional leadership position for about 70 luxury brands in sectors ranging from fashion to fragrances to fine wine. Before joining LVMH, Pauline worked as a Managing Director at the private equity firm The Carlyle Group, where she helped build the firm’s global consumer and retail practice.

Since 2008, Pauline has been a Henry Crown Fellow of the Aspen Institute, a program that seeks to develop the next generation of community-spirited leaders. She also sits on the boards of the Parsons School of Design and one of her alma maters the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
