Tangier is a city that has long been a place of intrigue for writers, artists, romantics, outcasts, and spies—anyone searching for an escape, for inspiration, for a community that might embrace their otherness. A former international zone, the Moroccan port city by the Strait of Gibraltar is bordered by two worlds, poised between continents, seas, cultures, powers, and agendas. It is the quintessential open city, a laboratory for mixing tradition with innovation.

After the last edition of our festival, which took place in Tangier in early May 2024, many of our community members affirmed what we had felt all along: that the city “between the two” is the very home for the House we’ve been longing for. We’re excited to deepen the relationships and conversations we‘ve started, and believe that this beautiful city at the crossroads of so many different influences, is the perfect venue for creating the future of business.

There are direct flights (one to three hours) from all major airports in the UK, France, Spain, Portugal, and Italy, and single-stopover connections from almost every European and non-European airport. If you’re coming from North America or elsewhere outside of Europe, you may choose to fly directly to Casablanca or Rabat, and take a high-speed train (approximately two hours) to Tangier. You can also fly to Seville or Jerez in Andalusia in southern Spain, and take the ferry (40 minutes) across the Strait of Gibraltar from Tarifa.

The House of Beautiful Business is the global network for the life-centered economy. Our mission is to create a new kind of business that is more purposeful, inclusive, and sustainable. Thought leadership-driven, community-powered, and experience-based, we bring together business leaders, economists, policy-makers, technologists, scientists, artists, and activists through consulting, in-person gatherings, online programs, publications, performances, and art. We inspire and equip them to shape an economy that honors all life inside and around us.

Founded in 2017, the House has grown from a pop-up event to a platform comprising learning and development experiences, an annual festival, local events, and a community of more than 50,000 professionals worldwide. We are a distributed team and work from Atlanta, Berlin, Istanbul, Lisbon, Munich, and Toronto.

Our events have attracted attendees from more than 40 countries, who are diverse in terms of gender, age, culture, and professional background. Our audience ranges from CEOs, artists, academics, and technologists to freelancers, entrepreneurs, and activists. Many members of our community find themselves at inflection points in their careers or lives, and are looking for new inspiration and orientation. Some use the House of Beautiful Business to meet interesting people, expose themselves to fresh ideas, and broaden their community. Others consider it a place to access original thinking, next-generation technologies, and novel practices to spur innovation efforts within their organization. What all participants in our events have in common is the quest to shape and build a life-centered economy. Everyone comes with an inquisitive mind, a big heart, and a desire for real, honest connections.
