A More Literate World

We have to take reading more seriously. Over her extraordinary career, scholar and teacher Maryanne Wolf, director of the Center for Dyslexia, Diverse Learners, and Social Justice, and author of multiple books, including Reader, Come Home, has shown persuasively that so much of what we enjoy in society—from companionship to critical thinking to democracy itself—is nurtured by deep reading.

Over the course of an in-depth conversation with Maryanne Wolf and with special guest Ella Berthoud, bibliotherapist at the international School of Life, we will explore the inner workings of our reading brain, the fringes of business jargon, and how to properly understand the changes that digital mediums are forcing on us individually and collectively. Hosted by Megan Hustad and Tim Leberecht.
