The PolyOpportunity is a joint initiative by the House of Beautiful Business, the Acosta Institute, and the Holon Institute.

The House of Beautiful Business (HoBB) is the experiential thought leadership network for the life-centered economy. Our mission is to create a new kind of business that is more purposeful, inclusive, and sustainable, in one word: beautiful. Thought leadership-driven, community-powered, and experience-based, we bring together business leaders, economists, policy-makers, technologists, scientists, educators, and artists through in-person gatherings, online programs, publications, consulting, performances, and art. We inspire and equip them to shape an economy that honors all life inside and around us. Founded in 2017, the HoBB has grown from a pop-up event to a platform comprising learning and development experiences, an annual festival, local events, and a community of more than 50,000 professionals worldwide.

The Acosta Institute is a pioneering virtual educational institution dedicated to the exploration and application of healing-centered education, contemplative social science, and slow work. We center restorative and healing-centered paradigms to fundamentally transform the contexts in which individuals heal, grow, and thrive. Our mission is to foster innovation and drive progress at these intersections through a variety of platforms, including online courses, lectures, training, workshops, and summits. At our core, we aim to be a second home for learning and community-building, where individuals are empowered to be active participants in their own transformation and the transformation of society.

The Holon Institute exists to co-create cultural, social, and ecological conditions that actualize the omnipotential of human creativity. To transform extractive and destructive systems, The Holon Institute works on the emergence of new stories and ontologies that transcend the problems we currently face. In partnership with a diverse community of collaborators, we co-create new solutions that build on the latest advancements in technology and business while expanding the aperture of possibility for human life. Toward this end, our practice, methodologies, and heuristics can be distilled into five words—emergent possibility through embodied imagination.

The world needs optimism. Doom and gloom are paralyzing us. Cynicism is a preemptive strike against imagination. It is time for a new story—a story that tells many stories. The PolyOpportunity is a “protopian” response to the polycrisis: a professional prototype of progress aimed at radical but achievable long-term change. The program focuses on five Opportunities and ten Powers that provide the meta-skills needed to realize The PolyOpportunity for our organizations, our societies, our planet, and ourselves.

In response to the polycrisis, The PolyOpportunity is a collaborative initiative that aims to create a new story, economic system, and leadership culture for an era in which humans no longer monopolize center stage. Taking place between March and June 2025, The PolyOpportunity program comprises four in-person events across four continents—The Berlin Salon (March 21–22), The New York Retreat (April 11–13), The Tangier Festival (May 15-17), and The Istanbul Bootcamp (June 19–20)—a 12-week online learning course, and free virtual forums (Open Houses). These three tracks complement and build on one another, but can also be experienced as stand-alone events. Our goal is to instigate a global conversation, generate new ideas, and inspire and enable leaders from business and other sectors to act on them (as Ambassadors, Athletes, or Activists).

Previous events by the hosts have attracted attendees from more than 40 countries, diverse in terms of gender, age, culture, and professional background. Many of them have found themselves at inflection points in their careers or lives, and are looking for new inspiration and orientation. Some have used our events to meet interesting people, expose themselves to fresh ideas, and broaden their community. Others have considered it a place to access original thinking, next-generation technologies, and novel practices to spur innovation efforts within their organization. What all participants in our events have in common is the quest to shape and build a life-centered economy. We believe that the key to shaping how we live together in the future lies in how we gather today. There is a desire for meaningful, truly collaborative gatherings that go beyond both the conventional conference and the cutting-edge festival format. We are bored with traditional panel discussions and tired of the dazzle of flashy interactive experiences. The PolyOpportunity aims to reinvent the event playbook, combining proven elements from our previous gatherings with new, experimental features, in person and online.

Each PolyOpportunity event will have between 50 and 500 attendees. After seven years of growing our gatherings to include 1000 people, we are excited about returning to smaller formats. We held the first ever House of Beautiful Business gathering in a guild hall in Barcelona with only 100 attendees, and the second in a Lisbon apartment. We believe the intimacy and coherence of a smaller group is conducive to deeper connections and conversations, and more meaningful outcomes. Similarly, in our online learning program, the onus is on cohorts of ten participants to engage with the curriculum together, and to facilitate discussions and peer exchanges.

In lieu of or in addition to attending in person, consider signing up for the 12-week online Learning Program (September–December 2025) to acquire and practice the meta-skills (Powers) of The PolyOpportunity or taking part in our Open House virtual forums that will delve deeper into each of the Opportunities.

Everybody’s busy, we know. That’s why we’ve designed all in-person and online events of The PolyOpportunity to be stand-alone experiences. This means you can take part in just one, or a few select, events and still get a lot of value.

That said, a lot of effort has gone into creating The PolyOpportunity as a multi-month journey with experiences that complement each other, so you’ll get more out of attending more events. Berlin will set the agenda, New York will allow you to look inward, Tangier will bring it all together, Istanbul will help you go outward. The Open House virtual forums dive deep into the Opportunities online. The digital Learning Program will help you understand and practice the Powers. At every step of the journey, you will be part of a beautiful and enthusiastic interdisciplinary community.

The Everything Pass gives you everything at a special price. For 2995 Euro you can take part in the full journey: You get tickets to all events and the Learning Program which would otherwise cost 3775 Euro in total. So you save more than 20 percent or 780 Euro.

All other event passes only give admittance to the event they were purchased for. Similarly, the Learning Program Pass only gives you a spot in the Learning Program. All ticket sales are final but are generally transferrable. (Let us know in advance who will attend on your behalf if you are unable to attend yourself.)

The New York Retreat Pass includes lodging and food. For all other events, accommodation is not included. Food is not officially included in the other event passes either, but some complimentary food and drinks will be served at each event.

The Open House events do not require you to buy a pass to attend. You can just register online for the Zoom event.

Past House of Beautiful Business festivals took place in one location (Barcelona, Lisbon, and most recently Tangier). Taking The PolyOpportunity to various locations across Europe, North America, Africa, Asia, and online will allow more people to participate in this important conversation. In each city, we will work closely with local partners and focus on featuring local speakers and performers, as well as linking the program to the local culture and business community.

While the brunch on March 21 will take place near the Rummelsburger Bucht, about a 15-30 (depending on traffic) car ride from the center (Mitte), our main venue on day one, March 20, still TBD, will likely be in Mitte or Kreuzberg. In any case, we kindly ask that you arrange your own travel and accommodation. Need suggestions? We’re happy to help! For our New York gathering, your accommodation is already covered with your pass—one less thing to plan! Just make your way to the stunning Garrison Institute in Garrison/Hudson Valley, about an hour’s drive from New York City, and we’ll take it from there.

Our venues in Tangier will all be centrally located. If you’re planning to join us, you’ll need to arrange your own travel and accommodation. Tangier is accessible via direct flights (1-3 hours) from major airports across the UK, France, Spain, Portugal, and Italy. For those coming from North America or further afield, flying into Casablanca or Rabat and taking the high-speed train (about two hours) to Tangier is a great option. Alternatively, you can fly to Seville or Jerez in southern Spain and take a short ferry (40 minutes) across the Strait of Gibraltar from Tarifa. We have not finalized yet the venue for our bootcamp in Istanbul, but hope to announce it soon. For those of you who know this big, sprawling city, you will be well aware that the location will certainly inform your choice of accommodation. So please bear with us!
